Why Study the Bible?

The Bible is the best-selling book every year, yet many people never open it. This tract shows why it's worth our time.

Why Study the Bible? is a tract by Matthew Allen. It explains what makes Scripture trustworthy and complete and gives five reasons every person should study it.

Why Hand Out This Tract

Many people own a Bible but don't read it, often because they aren't sure it matters or where to begin. This tract shows that Scripture is true, complete, and sufficient, then explains how it leads us to God, helps us understand ourselves and the world, corrects our course, guides us through life, and points us to Jesus.

What It Covers

• Why Scripture is trustworthy: 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 19:7, and Isaiah 55:11
• It leads us to God: Romans 10:17 and the story from Genesis to Revelation
• It guides and corrects us: Psalm 119:105, Hebrews 4:12, and 2 Timothy 2:15
• It points us to Jesus: the Law, the Gospels, the epistles, and Revelation

Ways to Use It

Give it to new Christians, include it in visitor packets, and use it to encourage members toward daily Bible reading. It's a natural way to invite someone to a home Bible study.
