What About Abortion?

The word "abortion" never appears in the Bible. But Scripture says a great deal about life in the womb, and this tract shows how God sees the unborn child.

What About Abortion? is a tract by Carl McMurray. It looks at what the Bible teaches about children before birth and how God values every human life.

Spanish edition: This tract is also available in Spanish as ¿Qué del Aborto?. Disponible en español.

Why Hand Out This Tract

Many people assume the Bible is silent on abortion and that God doesn't care. This tract shows that Scripture speaks of the unborn as children, that God knows and forms each life in the womb, and that He hates the shedding of innocent blood. It also speaks tenderly to anyone who has made this choice, pointing them to forgiveness in Christ and the support of a church family.

What It Covers

• The scale of the loss: why abortion has cost more lives than our nation's wars
• Children in the womb: Genesis 25:21-22, Job 3:3, and Luke 1:43
• Does God care?: Exodus 21:22-25, Isaiah 49:1, Psalm 139:13-16, and Proverbs 6:17
• Forgiveness in Christ: hope and comfort for anyone who carries this burden

Ways to Use It

Use it in sanctity-of-life outreach, youth and adult classes, and your tract rack. It can also be shared gently with someone who is hurting over a past decision. The Spanish edition serves Spanish-speaking outreach.
