A Scriptural Consideration of Baptism

Few religious questions are debated more than baptism: whether it's essential, who should be baptized, and how. This tract lets the Bible answer.

A Scriptural Consideration of Baptism is a tract by Kipp Campbell. It looks at the mode, the subjects, and the purpose of baptism as the New Testament teaches them.

Spanish edition: This tract is also available in Spanish as Una Consideración Bíblica Sobre el Bautismo. Disponible en español.

Why Hand Out This Tract

Churches disagree about sprinkling or immersion, infants or believers, and whether baptism matters at all. This tract cuts through the confusion with Scripture. It shows that Bible baptism is immersion, that it's for believers, and that it's where sins are washed away. It also cautions that baptism without genuine faith accomplishes nothing, and it lays out the full response of hearing, believing, repenting, confessing, and being baptized.

What It Covers

• Immersion is the biblical mode: John 3:23, Acts 8:38, and Romans 6:4
• Baptism is for believers: Mark 16:16 and why infants don't need it
• Six reasons to be baptized: Acts 22:16, Galatians 3:27, 1 Peter 3:21, and more
• A word of caution: baptism is never apart from faith, repentance, and confession (Acts 2:38)

Ways to Use It

Use it in personal Bible studies, keep it in your tract rack and visitor packets, and give it to friends asking whether baptism is necessary. The Spanish edition serves Spanish-speaking outreach.
