Randy Collins
Randy Collins was born in Greencastle, In. After high school and some college, he worked for IBM Corporation for twenty-nine years in accounting and finance and then small business consulting for another fifteen years. He and his late wife had three children, five grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. After his wife’s death he remarried in 2002 and enjoyed love with his second wife until she passed away in 2025. After living in South Carolina for fifteen years, he currently resides in Avon, In. in a senior living facility. Randy received his Purdue Master Gardener certification in Hamilton County, Indiana in 2004 and has been an avid gardener ever since in his retirement. His specialty has been growing a variety of flower species and promoting the use of native plants for our habitat.
He became a Christian in 1958 and later served as an elder for thirteen years in the Church of Christ in Greencastle, In. He later grew his faith in churches in Fishers, In. and Aiken, S.C. and he currently is a member of the church that meets in Brownsburg, IN. He began writing Adult Bible Study Guides for his South Carolina church back in 2010. He has since written numerous books in the gardening and inspirational genre including his first published book: Stop…and Smell the Mints, released in 2019, and then The Garden of the Shulamite, Writing in the Garden, Growing Old Gracefully in the Lord and his most recent book, Love Notes, Cookies, and More, released in early 2026.
