What is the Church of Christ?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be part of a church that tries to be like the one in the New Testament? This tract answers the question for anyone curious about the churches of Christ.

What is the Church of Christ? is a tract by Matthew Allen that introduces the churches of Christ: their plea for unity, their biblical name, how they're organized, and what they teach about salvation.

Spanish edition: This tract is also available in Spanish as ¿Qué es la Iglesia de Cristo?. Disponible en español.

Why Hand Out This Tract

Visitors and neighbors often wonder who the churches of Christ are and what makes them different. This tract answers in a short, friendly way, grounding every point in Scripture. It explains the call to be simply Christians in one body, describes independent congregations led by elders and served by deacons, and walks through God's plan of salvation by grace through an active faith.

What It Covers

• A plea for unity: one body, one faith, one Head (Ephesians 4:4-6; John 17:20-21)
• A biblical name: the names the New Testament gives the church and its members
• New Testament organization: independent congregations with elders, deacons, and saints
• God's plan of salvation: belief, repentance, confession, and baptism

Ways to Use It

It's a must for every tract rack, visitor packet, and welcome table, and a good piece to include in community mailings or leave with a curious coworker. The Spanish edition serves Spanish-speaking visitors and outreach.
