Reviews:

Mark Roberts has an understandable way of communicating that helps the reader dive into the text of Matthew 5-7. He combines his love for God's word with his love for coffee as a way to help the reader to relax and enjoy the study. I think you will find this and brother Roberts' other offerings wonderful tools to better understand God's messages to us.
_______________________________
This is the second book by Mark in the Coffee and the Bible Series. What I love about this series is how it does an excellent job at taking the depth of the passage and making it accessible in an understandable and enjoyable way.
I have been privileged to sit with Mark with the Bible and a cup of coffee in person. His previous book on Romans did well at communicating that same feel in the pages. That said, in this book on the Sermon on the Mount, Mark has honed that skill even further so that I actually feel like I'm sitting across the table from him. Able to ask questions, give input, even disagree I felt the need (because he's even willing to disagree with himself in the book!). He makes the atmosphere of the book open, honest, and diligent.
One of the most important ways for us to understand the Sermon on the Mount is through illustration. Mark does an excellent job of weaving in such illustrations so we get the heart of what Jesus was teaching.
Definitely recommend.
As well, if you are a coffee drinker, you'll find helpful tips here. I only drink coffee when with others, but I've had cups from this Biblical Barista...he knows what he's doing.
